While New York school districts await official guidance from the NYS Education Department on reopening, Mayor de Blasio announced earlier today that public schools in New York City will partially reopen in the fall. Families will have a choice on how they would like their child to learn this coming school year. Instruction will either be blended or fully remote. Blended learning is a mix of in-person and remote learning. Most students will attend school for 2-3 days a week in the fall. School schedules will be staggered. Determinations will be made on the size of the student population in schools and physical space. Principals will work on what that looks like during the next few weeks and will let parents know in August what days students will physically attend school. Students with disabilities: In-person services will be offered to students with IEPs who opt to receive them to the greatest extent possible. Greetings PTA Family, These are unchartered times we have been living in these past six weeks. We are giving it our best effort in spite of this global coronavirus that has changed everything about the way we live. Are you doing OK? Are you sure? It is OK not to be OK... Now that we have the officially official word from our Governor that we are remaining out of school for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, we have by now I think prepared to buckle down to the end of June.
