Chancellors Reopening Plan 070820

While New York school districts await official guidance from the NYS Education Department on reopening, Mayor de Blasio announced earlier today that public schools in New York City will partially reopen in the fall. Families will have a choice on how they would like their child to learn this coming school year. Instruction will either be blended or fully remote. Blended learning is a mix of in-person and remote learning. Most students will attend school for 2-3 days a week in the fall. School schedules will be staggered. Determinations will be made on the size of the student population in schools and physical space. Principals will work on what that looks like during the next few weeks and will let parents know in August what days students will physically attend school. Students with disabilities: In-person services will be offered to students with IEPs who opt to receive them to the greatest extent possible.
